Submersion and Immersion form a diptych created on the occasion of a residency at the Pac’bô.
Submersion is set up in an arboretum. It operates like the positive of Immersion. Forty one tree trunks are erected to form a 3 meter cube. In the middle of the cube, another cube of one meter appears by anamorphosis with the stainless steel tubes covering the trunk. A hole of light occurs in the centre of the work. This piece has a strong sculptural appearance. It gives a scale to the arboretum. It works like the culmination of nature reification.
