Immersion

Immersion and Submersion form a diptych created on the occasion of a residency at the Pac’bô.
Immersion is located on a leisure plain. This light looking construction is not designed for anything specific, it’s an undefined space. You are at the same time in and out of it, cut off from and in contact with the environment. You cannot hide in it neither seek shelter in it if’s it’s raining as the roof lets water through. Inside we experience the colour blue, which is the colour of the sky and immensity.
"Immensity is one of the dynamic characteristics of peaceful daydream." (Gaston Bachelard la poétique de l’espace, PUF 1970,
p169).
